Jillian Noel Hennessy

Jillian Noel Hennessy, born on November 25 in 1968 was a Canadian actor from Canada. Her most well-known roles are in American television shows Law & Order (where she played Claire Kincaid, a prosecutor) and Crossing Jordan (where she played Jordan Cavanaugh for six seasons). She has also been an actress in films such RoboCop 3: Most Wanted, as well the independent films Chutney Popcorn (which she also co-directed) and The Acting Class (which was written by her). Hennessy was raised in Edmonton, Alberta. John Hennessy, her father was a meat-salesman, as well as an executive in sales and marketing. His work required a lot of traveling, which meant many changes for the family. Her mother, Maxine, a secretary was a divorcee in 1982, leaving her daughter to be taken care of by her paternal grandmother Eleanor, in Kitchener, Ontario. John Paul Hennessy Jr. is her younger brother. Jacqueline is her identical twin sister and is a writer for a Canadian magazine and host. Hennessy has Irish, French, Swedish and Italian heritage from her father's side and mostly Ukrainian Roma, as well as Austrian, ancestry on her mother's side. She attended Grand River Collegiate Institute and Stanley Park Senior Public School. Hennessy was the younger sister of her brother, who made their debut on stage in 1988 as twin call-girls in the TV show Dead Ringers. According to Gillian Anderson (the actress who got the role) she was a finalist for Dana Scully's part in The X-Files. In 1993, Hennessy was signed by Dick Wolf as Claire Kincaid an assistant district attorney on the NBC crime drama Law & Order. The role lasted for three seasons, before being removed from the show as an actor in 1996.
