Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born to Gayle
(Gaston) and Freddie Wright, a national Director at Mary Kay and Freddie
Wright. She was raised in San Diego, California. When she was 14 years old, she
started her career in modeling. She was a model in Paris as well as Japan. She
decided to be an actress after she had graduated from high school. She got a
role on the soap show Santa Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated three
times for a Daytime Emmy. She was in love with Dane Witherspoon during the
first season. They were married in the year 1986. In addition, she appeared in
The Princess Bride (1987) in the title role. She was in the role of Santa
Barbara but left to star in Denial (1990) alongside Jason Patric. In 1990, she
was in State of Grace (1990), where she was introduced to actor Sean Penn, by
whom she had a daughter named Dylan Frances, and a son named Hopper Jack. After
a short break, Robin was back to Hollywood with one of the greatest roles of
her career: She played Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was absolutely stunning
and amazing. In the following film, she played Toys (1992) alongside Robin
Williams, and she gave a funny performance. Wright was also in 1994's
blockbuster hit Forrest Gump (1994), acting alongside Tom Hanks. Wright
received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award in recognition of her
performance as Jenny. The film gave her a small part in The Crossing Guard
(1995), starring Jack Nicholson. After rejecting 14 roles she was finally
offered the title role played by MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen Densham
directed her and Stockard Channing played the role. Her next film was Erin
Dignam's Loved (1997) co-starring William Hurt.
