Miesha Theresa Tate is an American
professional mixed martial artist. She was born on August 18th on the 18th of
August, 1986. She is a participant in Ultimate Fighting Championship, where she
was a former UFC Women's Bantamweight champion. Tate formerly competed for
Strikeforce in which she was an ex- Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion.
She also served as vice-president for ONE Championship. Tate was 13th in the
UFC women's bantamweight ranks at the time of her July 18th birthday. 20,22.
Tate was born to Michelle Tate in Tacoma Washington and raised by Robert
Schmidt and Michelle. In her early years Tate often hung out on the playgrounds
with boys from her neighborhood. Tate, an Franklin Pierce High School student
was interested in a particular sport and decided to choose amateur wrestling
over basketball. From her freshman year until graduation, she wrestled for the
team for boys. "I was kicked in the head really hard the first few weeks.
Tate remembers she wasn't sure what was happening. "I felt like a fish in
the waters." Tate explained in the year 2011. Tate won the girls' state
championship in 2005 , during her senior year. Tate was a student at Central
Washington University. A friend suggested that she attend mixed martial arts
(MMA). "I went there and it was really a group of wrestlers. I was a good
fit," Tate said. Tate explained that he was initially hesitant about being
a fighter in MMA.
